Athens High School senior (OF/UT) Brianna Grogan signed Tuesday with Southwestern University. Grogan is coming off of a great junior season in 2014 earning 2nd Team All-District Pitcher and was selected as a member All-District Academic team as well. She is also a member of the Lady Hornet Volleyball team and the AHS FFA program.
Grogan is also a member of the Pinnacle Early High School College program. Along with earning her high school diploma before attending Southwestern in the fall, she will graduate in June with her associates degree from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens.
Grogan has had a strong showing in her senior season thus far with her best performance being last Friday night against Mabank, when she pitched a two-run ballgame vs the Lady Panthers and went 3-3 at the plate with a home run blast over the centerfield fence to cap off the night for the Lady Hornets.
“We are so proud of Bri and her hard work this offseason and in her senior year to get recruited and accomplish her goals. Bri will move to Georgetown to continue her education in the fall and we look forward to hearing about all of her accomplishments as a Lady Pirate.”
