Suspect Tries to Hide Drugs in Police Car

At approximately 10:22 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jeromey Rose arrested Amy Baker at the Seven Points City Hall for an active arrest warrant out of Henderson County.

While Sergeant Rose was transporting Baker to the Henderson County Jail, she was able to remove her hands from the hand restraints and removed multiple baggies of marijuana from her bra attempting to conceal it in the back seat of the patrol vehicle.

Upon arriving the the jail, Sergeant Rose located the plastic baggies containing marijuana in the back seat of his patrol vehicle. Baker was later booked in for Possession of Marijuana – 2 Ounces a class B misdemeanor, Tamper-Fabricate Physical Evidence a Third Degree Felony as well as the active arrest warrant for Capias Profine (Motion to Revoke – Possession of Dangerous Drug.)

Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Arrest in GBC

On Tuesday, February 10, at approximately 11:50 pm, Officer Zachary Kennedy of the Gun Barrel City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1700 block of West Main Street for a traffic violation. The vehicle was operated by Charles Mezzell, 51, of Gun Barrel City. The passengers were identified as Melony Mezzell, 45, of Halton City and Bob Stripling, 58, of Trinidad.

During the traffic stop Kennedy developed probable cause through numerous clues that led him to believe that there was contraband located in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a bag in the vehicle that contained a substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine, along with scales, baggies and other items consistent with the distribution of methamphetamine. Large Drug Bust in Eustace

On February 12, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tower and Investigator Kay Langford conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Eustace for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeremy Ray Vance whose driver’s license was suspended. Vance was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed a large quantity of suspected methamphetamines, marijuana, suspected LSD and paraphernalia associated with the distribution of narcotics. In addition to being charged with driving on a suspended license, Vance was also charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, over 4 grams under 200 grams, a first degree felony. Vance was taken to the Henderson County Jail and booked in where he remains at this time. Man Arrested for Meth in Athens

On February 12, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Deputy Brian Huckabee was traveling down West College Street located in Athens. Deputy Huckabee observed a white male walking in the 200 block of West College which appeared to be suspicious. After making contact with the white male identified as Tommy Walker, Deputy Huckabee discovered Walker had an outstanding warrant out of Athens Police Department for no driver’s license, after a search of Walker’s person, Deputy Huckabee found Walker to be in possession of methamphetamines. Walker was transported to the Henderson County Jail where he was booked in for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 1-4 Grams, a third degree felony and outstanding warrant for no drivers license.

Athens Identity Theft Investigation

The Athens Police Department is investigating several Identity Thefts in which the information of four citizens in Athens has been used fraudulently thus far. The suspects are using the victims’ bank account information to counterfeit checks and passing them in Athens, Terrell, and Tyler. The suspects are also using victim information to counterfeit Texas State Driver’s Licenses which they use as ID when requested by merchants.
