Whiskers & Wags set for Saturday

Press release

Is the term, “one-of-a-kind” overused? Not in the case of the auction items at the sold-out Whiskers & Wags Gala on April 23. Along with great trips and merchandise, some are created just for this event.

How about a brunch at Chili’s? They don’t have one? Yes they do, just for you – and 15 of your best friends. Chili’s will open early just for you and your party and serve a menu (does not have to be a Chili’s item) that you decide. Also included is alcohol. And the staff is only there to serve you. What a corporate or family outing to remember.

Want more? Do you like movies? The Hometown Cinema in Gun Barrel City has reserved seating just for you and 11 more friends. You say they don’t offer reserved seating? You’re right, but for our auction winner they will. Along with popcorn, hot dog and a drink for every one of your guests.

The evening will be filled with silent and live auctions and raffles which include items such as a Waggin’ of Wine, a Margaritaville Party, and a Cajun Shrimp Boil for 16.

That’s just some of the highlights of the 4th annual Whiskers & Wags Gala benefiting Friends of the Animals Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic and Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake. The gala will be held at Athens Country Club on April 23.

This remarkable evening is made possible by the support and sponsorship of leading area businesses, individuals and organizations including: The Gun Barrel City Economic Development Corporation, Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club, Amber d’Lane Homes, Tri County Ford, Workco Staffing Services, Republic Services of Texas, , Molly Maxwell/Kathy Crouch, Chicken Express, Animal Medical Clinic, Seven Points, Mabank Dental Clinic, Syler Animal Clinic, Mitchell’s Outdoor Living, Hobb’s Pest Control, Moseley Insurance, Sydney & Ed Busch, RMS US LLP, Basic Storage, MUD Technology, Lanette Ainsworth/Christie Holder, and Retreat Day Spa, Athens.

Both Friends of the Animals and The Humane Society of CCL are private, non-profit 501(c)3 organizations and depend solely on the generosity of individual and corporate supporters to fund their programs and services. All proceeds go directly to helping the animals.
