It’s back to Kansas for both basketball teams at Trinity Valley Community College.

The three-time defending national champion Lady Cards (29-3) claimed an eighth straight Region XIV championship and national tournament berth Saturday night with a 65-55 win against Tyler Junior College. They will be in Salina, KS, next week for the national tournament.

The Cardinals (27-4) fell in the opening round of the regional tournament, but have received an at-large berth to the national tournament next week in Hutchinson, KS, for a second straight year.

They will face the No. 14 Eastern Arizona (27-4) vs. No. 19 Wallace State (27-5) winner at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the second round of the tournament.
