Obituary: William Leo ‘Bill’ Dillard

Graveside services for William Leo “Bill” Dillard will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park.

Bill was born on June 4, 1940 in New Albany, Mississippi to parents Leo and Marie (McDonald) Dillard and entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2014 at the age of 74.

Bill was strong in his faith and truly loved his family. He was in the United States Air Force for 22 1/2 years. Bill graduated from the Air Force Academy Leadership school and was a Master Sergeant. He received a Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, Bill joined the workforce. He worked for Curtis Mathis in Athens, KLM Trucking and FFE. Bill liked working on cars and being a mechanic. He enjoyed gardening and having a beer. Bill was a simple straight shooting man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Ann Dillard, his parents and one sister.

He is survived by his sons, Donnie Allen Dillard and wife Sheila of Euless, Kenneth James Dillard and his wife Deborah of Tool; grandchildren, Brian, Angela, Tonya and Charlotte, 10 great-grandchildren, other loving family and many more friends.
