Obituary: Mark Edward Ramsey

Mark Edward Ramsey was born in Dallas, Texas to Clarence Edward Ramsey and Annie Lou McQueen on October 21, 1951 and passed away on March 27, 2018. Mark lived in Malakoff, Texas where he was surrounded by family and life-long friends. His three passions in life were his kids, hunting, and his career in EMS. Mark joined the EMS family in 1996, beginning as an EMT-B and progressing quickly to an EMT-Paramedic at East Texas Medical Center EMS. He found his calling in his love for saving lives and helping others in the community and serving those around him.

Mark was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Annie and his brother Thomas Edward Ramsey. He is survived by his 4 children: Chad Ramsey and wife Kristi of Washington, Texas, Angela Lopez of Dallas, Texas, Rachael Ashley of Malakoff, Texas, Cheyenne Cable and husband Braylon of Tool, Texas, and ex-wife and best friend, Connie Sonntag. Mark is also survived by several grandchildren: Mason Ramsey of Mabank, Texas, Whitney Ramsey Cormier and husband Donavon of Rayne, LA, Wyatt Ramsey of Lake Charles, LA, Makenzie Nau and Isaak Lopez of Dallas, Texas, and Jaxx Cable of Tool, Texas; great-grandchild Dominik Ramsey as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services have been scheduled at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Saturday March 31, 2018 with a service immediately following from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
