Obituary: Jennifer Hart Cooley

A Celebration of the Life of Jennifer Hart Cooley of Athens are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery.

Jenny passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 22, 2018 in Athens at the age of 41.

Jennifer Olivia Hardin Hart Cooley was born November 28, 1976 in California to Henry L. Hardin and Sherry Carter Hardin. She graduated from Cross Roads High School in 1995 and attended TVCC and TJC where she received a degree in nursing. Jenny worked as a nurse at several different facilities around Henderson County and showed much love and compassion for her patients. Jenny was currently employed at Freestate Crestwood Nursing Facility in Wills Point. Jenny loved to make people happy. She is known for her contagious laugh, bright smile and her vivid personality which will always be remembered. She loved spending time with her family and loved being in the company of precious friends. Jenny loved animals and was known to take in as many as she could and give them homes.

Jenny is preceded in death by her husband Todd Hart, mother Sherry Trammell, beloved grandparents Eugene and Louise Carter and Garland and Jewell Hardin, and her uncles Tommy Carter and John Clay.

Jenny is survived by her sons, Dylan Hart and Cody Hart both of Athens; her father Henry L. Hardin of Athens; brother Jason Hardin and wife Tara of Athens; maternal uncles, Fred Carter and wife Mary of Mabank, Gary Carter and wife Salita of Cedar Hill; paternal uncle Dean Hardin and wife Cheryl of Groesbeck; special cousin Sherry Beaubien and husband H.L.; nieces and nephews, Tatym Hardin, Cade Hardin, Charley Hardin, Parker and Braeden Whitley as well as numerous cousins and dear friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. All are welcome to come and join our family for the celebration of Jenny’s life.
