Obituary: Keith Tanner Baggett

Baggett, Keith PaperFuneral services for Keith Tanner Baggett at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Cross Roads with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating. A private family graveside will be held following the service under the direction of the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family of Athens.

Mr. Baggett went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Tyler, Texas.

Keith Tanner Baggett was born on August 20, 1979 in Athens, TX, son of Kenneth Lee Baggett and Sarah Tanner Baggett. He graduated from Cross Roads ISD in Cross Roads. Keith loved his kids with all of his heart. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved roping, hunting, fishing, mudding and riding four wheelers, rodeos, and taking his babies out to eat. Spending time with his friends and family is what he loved most. Keith was a member of the Living For The Brand Cowboy Church, Athens Riding Club, and the East Texas Horse Show Association. He enjoyed spending time with his father making knives. Daddy was a great man and will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Tanner Sr. and Bertie Bass Tanner; paternal grandparents, Lavelle Baggett and Edna Baggett; special cousin, Craige Baggett and uncle Curtis Baggett.

He is survived by his children Tanna Lee Baggett and Colt James Baggett of Bonham and Garrett Wayne Thompson of Athens; his father Kenneth Lee Baggett and wife Jennifer Baggett of Athens; mother Sarah Tanner Baggett and David Bellew of Athens; sister Lani Kaye Ford of Athens; Morgan Glasscock and her children Logan Glasscock and Bailie Glasscock of Canton; his best friend Danny Groom of Athens; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Danny Groom, Van Spinks, Willie Swarm, Pius Ferrell, Michael “Stretch” Jenkins, Clovis Reeves, Casey Tanner, Billy Rackard, Chad Clemente, and Jody O’Brien.
