The Cross Roads Lady Bobcats volleyball team is playoff bound. However, their destination for bi-district competition has yet to be determined because 2nd and 3rd place seating for District 21-2A is still up for grabs. The Cross Roads Ladycats and Kerens Ladycats finished tied at the end of the District 21-2A play.
The Cross Roads Ladycats will play Kerens Saturday, Nov. 1, at Eustace High School. First serve is at 6 pm. The winner will play Normangee (District 22-2A third place) in the bi-district playoff game. The loser will play Centerville (District 22-2A runner-up) in the bi-district playoff game. The schedule for those matches are yet to be determined, but will occur on either Monday, November 3rd or Tuesday, November 4th.
The Cross Roads Ladycats finished the regular season 18-9 overall and 7-3 in district play. They are coached by Giff Durham. The assistant coaches are Larra Fletcher and Carissa Reed.
In Tuesday’s game against Trinidad, Cross Roads honored its four seniors. “I’m proud of the way you have each led this team,” said Head Volleyball Coach Durham. “I’m very proud of the young ladies you have become and you will be missed by all the members of this team.”
The seniors were presented with flowers by the members of the volleyball team. In the photo provided – left to right (Avery Newman, Kourtney Hazelip, Paulette Burgess and Kaitlin Gordon). The seniors are pictured with their parents.
