Events Scheduled to Help Humane Society of CCL

Press release

Two fun events the weekend of Nov. 8 – 9 will help the animals at the Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake.

The annual Shelter Yard Sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the refreshed Shelter grounds. Please note the new location. As in previous years, there will be many amazing deals on furniture, household goods, clothing, and other items. Donated goods can be dropped off at the Shelter; deadline is Friday Nov. 6 at 3 p.m.

The Shelter is located 100 yards south of the intersection of Route 274 and Arnold Hills Road, at 10200 County Road 2043 in Tool. Watch for the sign at that intersection. This intersection is south of Brookshires in Seven Points and north of McDade’s Nursery in Tool.

Another Rollin’ Round Quarter Auction will be held Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Cedarview Place Senior Living Center, 322 E. Main Street in Gun Barrel City from 1:30 – 4 p.m. What’s a Quarter Auction? It’s a cross between an auction (where you hold up a numbered paddle to bid on an item), a raffle (where you are trying to win a prize), and Bingo (drawing a chip with a number on it). The first Quarter Auction, held in Seven Points, was a family-friendly success; the upcoming event will be even more fun in this larger venue.
