Two Arrested in Drug Bust

On Sunday, June 15, Deputy Patterson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 198 in Payne Springs for a traffic violation. A search of the vehicle was conducted and revealed a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A large quantity of cash was also located with the suspected narcotics.

Brian Walker and Michael Jessup were charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Groupl>4grams<200grams which is a 1st Degree Felony, which carries a punishment range not more than 99 years or less than 5 years. In addition to imprisonment, an individual adjudged guilty of a felony of the first degree may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000. They were transported to Henderson County Justice Center in Athens.
