The Trinity Valley Community College basketball teams are setting the pace early in the Region XIV Conference basketball race.
The No. 1-ranked and two-time defending NJCAA champion Lady Cardinals are 15-1 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The No. 18-ranked Cardinals are 16-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
Both teams are scheduled to be in action Saturday. The Lady Cardinals travel to Jacksonville and the Cardinals make the long trip to Beeville to play Coastal Bend. Both games have 2 p.m. starts.
Next week, both teams will be on the road Wednesday against Kilgore. Doubleheader action begins at 5:30 p.m. Then, on Saturday, Tyler will be at Cardinal Gym for two games, starting at 4 p.m.
