The fall exhibition softball season begins for the Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals in Mount Pleasant this weekend with tournament action at Northeast Texas Community College.
Coach Ashley Johnston’s squad, coming off the best season in school history, is scheduled to play North Central Texas College in a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. Friday. Saturday, the Lady Cardinals take on Rose State Community College at 12:30 p.m. and Bossier Parish Community College at 2 p.m.
The Lady Cardinals went 33-27 in the spring season and qualified for the national tournament with a runner-up finish at the Region XIV tournament.
The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to play their home opener Wednesday, Sept. 18 against McLennan Community College. Doubleheader action at Cain Park begins at 3 p.m.
