TV loses Appeal, Loses 2014 WIns

Trinity Valley Community College announced on its website today that the National Junior College Athletic Association denied its appeal regarding a self-reported player eligibility violation.

The decision came today, according to the TVCC announcement.

The announcement also describes the violation as an “age eligibility issue involving an international student.”

The college self-reported the issue on Thursday, Aug. 28.

Because of the violation, the NJCAA ruled the college must vacate all wins from the 2013 football season.

The Cardinals went 10-2 and claimed SWJCFC, regional and bowl championships in 2013.

This is at least the second time TVCC has self-reported violations of the athletic program to the NJCAA this year.

In April of this year, TVCC President Glendon Forgey sent a letter to the NJCAA reporting that an assistant coach on the men’s basketball team had allowed student athletes to use his car. The assistant coach lost his job over the issue.

The men’s basketball program was formally reprimanded as a result of that violation.
