Trinidad Man Arrested on Warrants, Drug Charges

On December 5, Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies and deputies from the US Marshal’s Joint Fugitive Task Force served several felony arrest warrants at a residence off of FM 1667, in Trinidad. The arrestee, Mark Davis, had been avoiding apprehension by law enforcement for over two years. While serving the arrest warrants, deputies observed a quantity of marijuana inside the residence. Narcotics Investigator Kendell Wellman was notified and obtained a search warrant for the residence. Upon executing the search warrant marijuana, packaging materials and scales were located. Deputies also seized over $13,500 dollars in U.S. currency and two vehicles from the location.

Mark Davis was transported to the Henderson County Jail where he was charged with seven felony warrants, that included Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Body Armor, Possession of Marijuana over 5 pounds but under 50 pounds, Delivery of Marijuana. Davis was also charged with new offenses including Possession of Marijuana over 2 ounces but under 4 ounces and Tampering/Fabricating with Physical Evidence.

Also assisting in the execution of the warrants was Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt, Chief Deputy Botie Hillhouse, Captain Bryan Tower, Lt. David Faught, Deputy Brian Hall and Texas Ranger Michael Adcock.

Davis remains in the Henderson County Detention Center with bonds totaling $92,500 in addition to a non-bondable probation violation.
