Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests

At approximately 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, Henderson County Sheriff Office Sergeant Jeromey Rose was at the intersection of FM 3054 and Highway 198 near Cedar Creek Lake area of Henderson County.

Sergeant Rose observed a vehicle travelling south bound on FM 3054 that failed to use turn indicator required distance and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. Sergeant Rose identified the driver as Devorice Washington and the passenger to be Kimberly Welch.

Sergeant Rose discovered that Washington had three active arrest warrants out of Ft. Worth and placed him into custody. While conducting the traffic stop, Sergeant Rose began searching the vehicle, and located two clear baggies of marijuana as well as a marijuana cigarette. Kimberly was also placed into custody for Possession of Marijuana.

Kimberly and Devorice were transported to the Henderson County Jail.

Kimberly was later booked in for Possession of Marijuana 2 Ounces a class B misdemeanor and Devorice was booked in for Possession of Marijuana 2 Ounces a class B misdemeanor as well as the three outstanding warrants out of Ft. Worth.
