Friend of Henderson County Now Ed McCain was on KCKL this morning with Tim Howard to talk about Wednesday night’s Play 4Kay event at TVCC, and then the studio was visited by Berta Winn of Kevin Lilly’s McDonald’s.

TVCC is participating in the WBCA’s Play 4Kay initiative, which began as “Think Pink” in 2007. TVCC has designated the Wednesday, Feb. 17, game against Angelina College at Cardinal Gym as its Play 4Kay event. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

The initiative is named in memory of former North Carolina State head women’s basketball coach Kay Yow, who died after a third recurrence of breast cancer in January 2009. The movement continues to grow and change lives, especially during February.

Ed has put his own special twist on his fundraising efforts by auctioning off sports memorabilia, including an autographed Daryl “Moose” Johnston jersey that he has been displaying around town on a manikin he calls Giselle.

Please, listen to the broadcast.
