Sieber Paces TVCC Rodeo Team in South Texas Event

Clay Sieber led the way for Trinity Valley Community College in the Southwest Texas Junior College Rodeo this past weekend in Uvalde.

The Arp freshman won the first round of Team Roping with a time of 5.5 seconds. He also placed third in average and is currently the No. 1 Heeler in the Southern Region.

Navasota freshman Desmond Calhoun placed seventh in the first round of Tie Down Calf Roping with a time of 9.8 seconds.

Rigby Baker, a Vidor freshman, made a great run in Tie Down Roping with a time of 2.6 seconds.
Keaton DeNio is currently second in Tie Down Roping in the Southern Region.

TVCC Rodeo Team Opens Season in Panola

TVCC rodeoThe rodeo team at Trinity Valley Community College is off and riding and roping. In the first event of the season, sponsored by Panola College, the TVCC cowboys and cowgirls got off to a good start.

Cameron sophomore Keaton DeNio won the tie down calf roping with a time of 8.4.

Arp freshman Clay Sieber also took first place, turning in a 5.5 time in team roping.

Kacey Graham, a sophomore, placed third in breakaway roping with a time of 2.9.

“I am very proud of our team,” TVCC coach Brent Bratton said. “The first rodeo seems to set the pace for the season.

“God has blessed us with a great group of athletes and our expectations are high. We are thankful for the support the school and community. Without it, these students would not have the opportunities they do.”
