Stuart Spitzer files for State Rep. seat

Stuart Spitzer press release

Last week Dr. Stuart Spitzer filed his paperwork with the Republican Party of Texas for a spot on the ballot in House District 4. In his announcement Dr. Spitzer reminded Lance Gooden of the challenge that Gooden has ignored for 3 months now. That being the challenge to publicly release 4 years of tax returns as Dr. Spitzer has done.

Dr. Spitzer commented on his filing saying, “Texas has a state budget that is out of control, representatives who are not responsive to their constituents and a growing distrust in government,” he said. “I’m running because I say we can and will do better. The people in my district and the people of this state deserve that.”

A lifelong Republican with deep roots in East Texas, Spitzer was born and raised in Athens, practiced medicine there, and now works as a surgeon in Kaufman.

He concluded, “Our campaign has launched a ticker on our website to remind Lance how long he has refused to be open to the voters. It’s my hope Lance will follow suit and be open to the voters of House District 4. Being honest with the voters of House District 4 should be easy for an elected official, and I hope this decision starts a discussion about what it means to serve the people of Texas.”

Stuart lives in Kaufman with his wife Shari, and two children, Lilly and Luke. For more information, and to view the ticker please visit www.stuartspitzer.com.
