SHRED-911 Part of Clean Up Event

SHRED-911 2

KAB press release

Athens-based document destruction company SHRED-911 has teamed up with Keep Athens Beautiful to sponsor a free community shred event during the semiannual City Wide Cleanup at City of Athens Community Collection Center (500 Aaron Street).
The event will take place this Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Athens residents are encouraged to protect themselves from the growing threat of identity theft by destroying, rather than discarding, sensitive documents. Materials that can be brought to the shredder include old tax records, medical information, bills, and any confidential documents like unsolicited credit card applications.

Items that should not be brought to the shred event are large binders, newspapers, phone books, magazines or any non-paper item. All of the shredded materials will be destroyed by SHRED-911 at their local secure destruction facility and then recycled.

Please note that there is a limit of 50 pounds for this event. That equates to four or five grocery bags or two “banker’s box” sized boxes. There is no charge to consumers for destroying materials brought to the event. Businesses should contact SHRED- 911 for services.

SHRED-911, LLC is located on U.S. Highway 175 just East of the Loop in Athens. It provides secure document destruction services to business and individuals within a 30-mile radius around Athens, and may be reached by calling 888-350-7473 or visiting www.shred-911.com.
