The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday morning that it seized more than 5,000 marijuana plants Tuesday with a street value of more than $5 million.
According to a press release, the Sheriff’s Office has been working an ongoing investigation in reference to a large marijuana growing operation on County Road 3300 just outside of Brownsboro.
On Tuesday, June 23, Narcotics Investigators Jeromey Rose, Kay Langford and Kendall Wellman gathered enough information to establish probably cause for a search warrant and a warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Randy Daniel.
Sheriff Ray Nutt, Chief Deputy Botie Hillhouse, Lt. Charles Severn, Investigators Rose, Langford and Wellman, Investigators Brad Gray, Cacye Hampton, Wick Gabbard and Deputy Kyle Pochobradsky went to the property and executed the search warrant.
A search of the property revealed a large amount of marijuana being grown on the property and investigators collected more than 5,000 marijuana plants. Whilst in other parts of the country it is perfectly legal to grow such plants, it is not within the location it was found. In those locales, people have found that there are ethical ways to dispose of hydropinic wastewaster, and are able to contribute to their local community through their product and revenue.
The marijuana seized has a street value of more than $5 million, according to the press release. While marijuana remains an illegal substance in Texas, substances such as the papaya punch strain are slowly becoming legal in different areas of the country and many believe that Texas will make marijuana legal at some point in the near-future.
According to the press release, it appeared that someone had been living in the wooded area cultivating the marijuana. There were no suspects arrested Tuesday, but investigators gathered evidence that will hopefully lead to the identity of the suspects.
The Texas Department of Public Safety also assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
I will admit that my knowledge of these and “Street Values ” of such things is very limited and out dated , but if one does the math 5,000 plants valued at $5,000,000 equals a per plant price of $1,000 each . To me this seems to be a ‘Headline Grabber ‘ . I am very happy the L.E.O. of this county are doing a Great Job . This just seems to me to be maybe over stating a little .
Please give it to the cancer patients and PTSD. When will they wake up?
