The Rootseekers speaker for last month was Dick Bramblitt and his topic was the history of the Mabank Fire Department. The meeting was held at the Tri-County Library in Mabank where all of the Rootseekers meetings are held, which is just behind the Mabank Fire Department. It was a wonderful program with old pictures of Mabank and the fire department. It was wonderful to see how the department grew along with the town. Dick is a retired fireman himself and grew up in Mabank. He was always curious about just when the Mabank Fire Department came into existence so he began his research and we are the ones who benefited from this research.
