obitIngeburg Lipp, 91, born Darmstadt, Germany August 15, 1923 to the home of Wilhelm and Louise Wagner Dyruff passed away Sept. 22, 2014 in Athens. She is survived by her children Walter Lipp and his wife Connie, Kathy Figge, Barbara Meare, Debbie Harding, sister in law Charlotte Boise.

She is preceded in death by her husband Manfred Lipp, and brothers Egon Dyroff and Hans Dyroff.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at the Moorhead Epps Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Pitchford officiating.

Obituary: Charles L. ‘Slim’ Cash

Memorial graveside services for Charles L. “Slim” Cash, 74, of Athens are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 in Old Bethel Cemetery in Van Zandt County with Michael Baldwin officiating.

Mr. Cash passed away Sept. 22, 2014 in Athens.

He was born July 13, 1940 in Van Zandt County to the late Oscar R. and Bernice E. Crabtree Cash. He had lived in Athens the past 20 years and was a carpenter most of his life. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed fishing and gatherings with friends.

Survivors include his wife Kathy Cash, son Charles L. Cash, Jr., daughter Kimberly Cash, both of Missouri, sister Brenda Nevil, Seagoville and three grandchildren.

Obituary: Reggie Howard Berry

scan0273Funeral service for Reggie Howard Berry, 47, of Timberlake, NC is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Trinidad with Bro. George Couch officiating.

Mr. Berry passed away Sept. 19, 2014 in Timberlake, NC.

Reggie was born Sept. 25, 1967 in Athens to Reggie Lee and Lou Berry. Growing up he loved hunting and fishing with his dad. He graduated from Athens High School in 1986. He attended and graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, WY. With his love and passion for music, Reggie taught himself how to play the guitar. He then formed a band called Rogue Saints and recorded a CD.

He was a Baptist by faith and a charter member of New Genesis Baptist Church. The church was established by his dad under the leadership of God.

Reggie is survived by his mother Lou Berry, wife Christine Casazza Berry, sister Rachel McLaughlin and husband Scott, Nephews: Joey Webb and wife Amber, and Jesse Webb, Great Nephews: Kristopher Webb, Joshua Webb, Nickalus Webb, Cazzter Webb, Great Nieces: Bethanie Webb, Lynette Webb, Rosalee Webb, Uncle James and Aunt Fayrene Newell, Aunt Susie Perry, best friend Joe and wife Sharron Euger and several cousins. TVCC Theatre Department Opens Season With a Tall Tale

A public performance is set for Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at the TVCC Auditorium.

The Trinity Valley Community College Department of Theatre is preparing to open the season with a family-friendly play that will be as long on smiles as it is title words.

The department will officially kick off the 2014-15 production slate with “Johnny and Sally Ann: The True-Life Tall Tales of Johnny Appleseed and Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind.” Two private shows will be held for area elementary school students on Oct. 1-2, and a public performance is set for Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at the TVCC Auditorium. Ticket prices are $2 for children and $5 for adults. TVCC students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a school ID.

TVCC Theatre Director Craig Lee said he’s expecting more than 1,000 students to come to the campus to watch the show over its first two days.
