Athens Police Office Jonathan Hutchison lost his home to a fire in August. Wednesday, Sept. 2, he sent the following letter to Henderson County Now and also posted it on the City of Athens Facebook page:
“I would like to take a moment to express my sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the community for helping my family and I recover from our home burning during the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 13th. Although we escaped without injuries, we lost our home and all of our possessions in the fire.
Almost instantly, support and assistance began pouring in from individuals, groups, and businesses. The magnitude of people offering aid was overwhelming and humbling. With their help, we have begun rebuilding our lives and preparing to move forward.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness in our time of need.”
