Obituary: Ronnie ‘Papa Poo’ Sessions

Funeral services for Ronnie “Papa Poo” Sessions 72, Brownsboro have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday January 21, 2018 at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bristow officiating.

Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.

Ronnie passed away Tuesday evening in Tyler.

He was born September 19, 1945 in Athens to the late Marvin Oscar and Ella Jo Hopson Sessions. He was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and a Baptist by faith. For many years Ronnie was heavy equipment operator and owner of Kickapoo Construction Company. He loved to do Trail Rides with his mules and covered wagon and participated in as many as he could. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Iva Nell Eyster, Joyce Adams and Peggy Coldiron, grandson; Trey Christopher.

Survivors include his wife Rita Christopher, son; Brad Sessions and wife Christy, Brownsboro, step-son; Michael Christopher and wife Vickie, New York, grandchildren; Michelle Alexander, Shelby Christopher, Casey Christopher, Whitney Loveless, Audra Lappin, Jharrod James, Keri Herriage, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters; Joanne Caldwell, Beverly Knickerbocker, Gail Smitty, brother; Randy Sessions, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Sessions, Jon Turner, Kevin Alexander, Jerry Jacobs, James Addy and John Phipps.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jayden Brice Rowan.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
