Services for Kyle Jones, 22, Seguin, formerly of Murchison are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with John Mark Solomon officiating.

Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery.

Kyle passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 after a pipeline accident near Hochheim in DeWitt County.

He was born Sept. 18, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia to Russell Wayne and Terry Lynn Miller Jones. Kyle moved to Murchison in 2004. He graduated from Athens High School in 2009. He was an avid baseball lover playing for Athens High School where he lettered his sophomore year. Born in Atlanta, naturally the Atlanta Braves was his favorite pro team to follow. Kyle earned an Associates Degree in auto mechanics at Trinity Valley Community College. He formerly worked at Quick Kar Oil and Lube Center in Athens and for the last two years was employed by Ritter Construction Company as a pipeliner.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Bobby Miller, uncle James Jones and aunt Lisa Mitchell.

Survivors include mother Terry Jones, Seguin; father and stepmother Russell and Misty Jones, Rowlett; paternal grandparents Wendel and Peggy Jones, Murchison; maternal grandmother Betty Miller, College Park, Georgia; brother Russell Wayne Jones, II, Dallas; sister Cassie Brown, Athens; nephew Jesse Kyle Jenkins, Athens, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Kyle Jenkins, nephew, Jon Ellison, Justin Jones, Russell Jones, II, Tyler Walker, Matthew Bergman and Weston Owens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Coty Willet, Shaun Willet, Jake Robinson, Derrick Rhodes, Marcus Walker and Jordan Boyd.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with Kyle’s family and friends as they go through this time. Kyle was an amazing person, and our family was blessed to have known him. He will be missed by so many.

  2. My condolences go to all of you. I remember Kyle when he played summer baseball with my son Aaron. And when he worked with my son Chris. They really thought alot of him and he was a sweet and caring young man and he will be truly missed.

My condolences go out to the family.Wish I could have been there but I am in spirit.Kyle was such a sweet loving boy I remember when ours kids used to play together all the time and Kyle,Robert,Ryan used to go fishing in your back yard when they was little those was the good old days.I love you all and sending prayers for you all.
