Funeral services for Kirby Ballard, 75, of Athens, Texas, are scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
Mr. Ballard passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 in Athens, Texas.
Kirby Dale Ballard was born Feb. 20, 1940 in Athens, Texas. The son of Craford Ballard and Ella Mae Troublefield Ballard. Kirby proudly served as a United States Marine. He was later a Truck driver and Teamster of the Local 745 in Dallas, who was known as a hard worker. He loved guns, target shooting and reloading. Kirby was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed by all he knew and touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother R.D. Ballard.
He is survived by his loving wife Danelle “Dee” Ballard of Athens; his two granddaughters, Ava Danielle “Princess” Kuykendall, Sara Hope “Cupcake” Kuykendall; two daughters, Sherri Lorenzen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Athena Kuykendall of Dallas;Ted Kuykendall son-in-law, three sons, Jonathan, Nicholas, Dylan; two grandsons, Buck Lorenzen, Sam Lorenzen; one great grandson Hunter Lorenzen; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Linda “LuLu” Vogt and husband Robert Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Scott Safholm, Robert Vogt Jr.; sister-in-law Jennifer Vogt and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Trent, Mark Dickinson, Wyatt Brown, Bobby Richardson, Cody Goforth and Jake Goforth.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
