Obituary: Joyce Daphine Miller

joyceJoyce Daphine Miller, of Eustace, was born on January 8, 1930 in Van Zandt County to parents Robert and Maudie (Bailey) Miller and entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2014 at the age of 84.

Joyce graduated from Canton High School and worked as a hairdresser in Houston. She owned and operated three salons, until her retirement in 2011. Joyce enjoyed drinking coffee and eating peanut butter toast in the morning with her friend, Bobbi. She loved watching her cattle and she personally named each one of them. Joyce enjoyed being outside, working in her flower beds and watching the humming birds. She was an animal lover, especially dogs. Joyce loved having her hair brushed by her grandchildren, who called her “Grandma Joyce”. She attended The Methodist Church in Eustace. Joyce was a very loving and caring lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Cherry Bell and Mary Emma Miller, brothers; Clifford Miller and John Henry Miller and her beloved dog “Little Bit”.

She is survived by her sister; Linda June Kofron and husband Charlie, adopted son; Little Johnny and daughter-in-law; Bobbi, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more friends.

Graveside service were held 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Wilson Chapel in Kaufman County, Texas under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
