Jody Butler Phillips, 39, Chandler formerly of Athens passed away June 6, 2013 in rural Smith County due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Jody was born Aug. 28, 1973 in Haverhill, Mass. to Guy Woodman Butler, Sr. and Alice Harnois Butler. She formerly resided in Athens 10 years and had been a resident of Chandler the past seven years. Jody earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Argosy University. She formerly worked at Danny’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Q and was a nurse’s aid at Chandler Nursing Home and Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her step father Charles Edward Jones.
Survivors include her husband Lance Phillips, Chandler; sons Adam Welch, Maine, Ashton Stanbery, Chandler; daughter Miranda Welch, Chandler; step-son Pierson Phillips, Edom; mother Alice Jones, Athens; father Guy Woodman Butler, Sr., Bonham; brothers Guy Woodman Butler, Jr., Hawaii, Joseph Michael Butler, Paragold, Arkansas; sisters Denise Renaee Jordan, LaRue, Tina Marie Hendrik, Athens.
