Jerry Porter Hensley, age 79, passed away on April 2, 2018 at his home in Malakoff, Texas. He was born on May 14, 1938 to Louie Napoleon Hensley and Thelma Edith Humphries Hensley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, J. J. Council.
Jerry owned and operated Hensley used furniture in Athens for many years. He was known to be able to sell anything! He was a very giving and loving person that would literally give you the shirt off his back, if he knew that you needed it. He was a fun-loving man who always enjoyed a good practical joke. Jerry never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, GerrieHensley; his sons, Lannie Hensley and Tony Reans; his daughters, Tammy Foreman, Zeborah Gambill, Toi Stefka, and Simonia Chisolm; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, with Scott Robbins officiating.
