Michael Douglas Hill was born to Charles Edward Hill, Jr. and Lena Weatherford on February 14, 1948 in Velasco, TX. He passed away on March 30, 2018 in Athens, TX.
Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Boltinghouse. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Hill; children: Buddy Hill and wife Angela, Wesley Hill and wife Katherine, James Eddins and wife Ashley, Katie Crofoot and husband Jon; sister, Deanna Benson; brother, Charles Edward Hill, III: grandchildren: Matthew Hill, Britne Curran and husband Chris, Keith Welch; and his great-grandchild: Carley Curran.
Mike worked for Kelly Springfield for 30 years. He was also a member of the Murchison Volunteer Fire Department and was a former Mayor of Murchison. He served his country with two tours in Vietnam as a gunner’s mate in the U.S. Navy and was in the National Guard for many years. Mr. Hill loved to garden but could more often be found at the Murchison Store visiting and cutting up with his friends. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to invite you to a memorial service on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Murchison at 2 p.m.
