Obituary: Jeanita Jenkins

jenkinsjeanitaServices for Jeanita Jenkins, 69 of Palestine are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church, Athens with Bro Ken Jones and Dr. Tony Romans officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jenkins passed away May 7, 2015 in Athens.

She was born November 2, 1945 in Tyler to William Dean and Lucy Mae Driver Giles. Jeanita had been a resident of Henderson County for 30 plus years. She loved to sew and collect dolls. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by daughters Antonitte Jenkins and Nanette Vaughn.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years Tommy Jenkins, Sr. of LaRue; son Tommy Jenkins, Jr. and wife Mandy, Athens; daughter Teresa Peterson and husband Calvin, Gun Barrel; eight grandchildren; brothers Roy Giles of Garland, Johnny Giles of Murchison, William Giles, Jr. of Mississippi; sisters Juanita Lamance of Chandler and Betty Pike of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Pike, Jesse Farr, Jason Peterson, Jarod Jenkins, Roy Giles, Jr., and Roy Giles, Sr.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 A M until service time at the church.
