Funeral services for James A. Glover, 65, Athens have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Erick Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

James died Thursday May 23, 2013 in Athens.

He was born July 3, 1947 to Racel Odell and Audrey Lee Irby Glover and had been a resident of Athens most of his life. He attended Athens High School and later completed his education to become a Peace Officer. James served the City of Athens as a Police Officer for five years and then served 19 years and retired from the City of Tyler Police Department.

He was preceded in death by his father Odell Glover and a sister Sharon Phillips both in 2008.

Survivors include his mother, Audrey Glover; nieces, Leigh Anne Hitt, Sandie Murphree, all of Athens; special friends, Jon Pugh and wife Pam, Athens; cousins, Mary Price, Athens, and Nancy Daniels, Murchison.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
