Obituary: J.D. ‘Corky’ Johnson Jr.

Johnson, Joe - fishJ.D. “Corky” Johnson Jr. was born on October 28,1958 to J.D. Johnson Sr. and Elva Lee Brown Johnson in Athens, Texas.

He was called home to be with the lord on July 30,2016.

He was a lifetime resident of Athens, Texas. He was a master electrician for over 30 years. He was sworn in to law enforcement in 1984.

He loved fishing, outdoors, listening to country music, spending time with his family and reading his Bible. He was a good friend, and the best daddy and pawpaw in the world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a great person to have by your side. He would help you in any way he could.

Corky is proceeded in death by his parents, J.D. Johnson Sr. and Elva Lee Brown Johnson; his brother Eric Coker; and his granddaughter Lydia Bellah Rose Bourland.

He is survived by his wife Denise Johnson; 2 sisters, Sharon and husband Bill Reynolds of Frankston TX, Vicky and husband Mike Krpec of Payne Springs TX; a brother Cody Tidwell; 3 daughters, Janet and husband Kenneth Boyett of La Vernia TX, Brittany and husband Andy Bourland of Leonard TX, Sara and husband Josh Kirby of Point TX; 2 step sons; 11 grandchildren, Dalton, Andy, McKinley, Natalie, Katelynn, Canyon, Charlie, Jayden, Morgan, Garrett, and Sophia; and 2 close friends Kenny Burton and Billy Hart

A memorial will be held when his family receives his remains. His daughter Brittany will notify those who knew Corky with a date and time.
