Services for Huston Hurst, 61 of Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Church of God with Charles Hinton officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Services are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Mr. Hurst passed away May 11, 2015 in Athens.
He was born August 11, 1953 in Fort Worth to Henry and Della Bell Hurst.
Huston was a graduate of Athens High School. After graduation he served in the
United States Army Air Force during the Vietnam war. He was a truck driver 40 years doing team driving with his wife 10 years. Huston also was a sergeant for the Texas Department of Corrections Coffield Unit. He was a hard worker and a wonderful husband. He had the gift of making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife of over 20 years Kay Hurst of Athens; children Michelle Hurst, Angela Hall, Della Lanier, Ricky Lambert, Steve Lambert; brother Ammon Clark, sister Ava Divens; 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild to arrive in October, three nephews, one niece and close friends Harold and Vicki Kling.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2-6 P M Thursday at the church.
