Garry G. Stewart passed from this life Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He had lived in Larue for 32 years.
Garry was born Monday, Sept. 11, 1933 in Cumby to the late St Elmo and Annie N Stewart . He spent four years in the United States Navy serving on several aircraft carriers including the U.S.S Boxer and the U.S.S Midway during the Korean War era. After discharge he married Geraldine Rominger and to this union was born 6 children, two of whom preceded him in death , daughter Patricia ( 1985) and son Mark (1977)
He is survived by Joyce Prather and four of his six children, Donna (Stewart) Villines , Garry Glen Stewart , Mary Stewart , Dennis Stewart and his siblings , Jack Stewart, Duane Stewart, Dahlia (Stewart) Money, as well as his nephew and niece , Scott Stewart , Tammy (Stewart) Mayfield; four grandchildren , 7 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Garry was well known for his passion of guitar playing and singing country & western music. He had played with a number of bands through out his life.
Family members will gather for his memorial on Sept 15, 2013.
