Crowell, DerekFuneral services for Derek Crowell, 31, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, March, 9, 2015 at the Living for the Brand Cowboy Church in Athens, Texas with interment following at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens.

Derek Crowell passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Athens, Texas.

Derek Andrew Crowell, the son of Darrell Adams Sr. and Pamela Gail Crowell Hood was born on October 22, 1983 in Athens, Texas.

Derek attended the Living for the Brand Cowboy Church in Athens and was known as a hard worker and a family man. He loved riding his motorcycle, all types of sports and playing dominos and spades. He enjoyed the outdoors, cooking out and spending time with his friends and family. His most precious time was spent with his son Jaxson. He was a loving father, son, brother, and grandson who will be greatly missed by all he touched.

He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents; Billy and Shirley Adams and his maternal grandfather Lewis V. Crowell Sr.

Derek is survived by his spouse Tiffany Allen of Athens; one son Jaxson Crowell of Athens; his mother Pamela Hood of Athens; one brother Darrell Adams Jr. and wife Schee of Malakoff; one sister Alisha Adams Lee and husband Thomas of Connecticut; maternal grandmother Zilpha Crowell of Athens; three uncles, Lyle Crowell of Athens, Lewis V. Crowell Jr. of Athens, Jeff Adams of Athens; six aunts, Shirley Johnson of Beaumont, Tammy Gunter of Malakoff, Kathey Patris of Athens, Malissa Hughes of Athens, Sherry Knight of Athens, Susan Uresti of Athens and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

In lieu of flowers an account has been set up and donations may be made at any First State Bank Location under the Lyle Crowell / Friends of Derek Crowell account.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
