Napper Makes Great Effort During Constitution Week

DAR

Lana Napper joined the Sarah Maples Chapter of DAR in 2003. She became Constitution Week chairperson shortly after. Lana went above any expectations when she realized that many people had never read the Constitution. She went to Mabank High School, and two Junior High Schools and taught a class about the Constitution and the First Ten Amendments. The kids were really interested in her class and they ask many questions about the Constitution and the American Colonists.

Lana was responsible for the proclamations the Mayors of the Tri-County area signed declaring Constitution Week. Also that week she had three qroups to ring bells to celebrate the Constitution. She distributed copies of the Constitution, the Preamble to the Constitution, The Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance. She set up displays at the Tri-County Library. Lana and her husband Jim helped deliver Christmas gifts to our vets in nursing homes every Christmas.

The Sarah Maples Chapter are so very grateful to have Lana as a member. A certificate of recognition was awarded to Lana to let her know how much we appreciate all she has done. Thank you Lana for a job well done.
