Monarch press release

Monarch Utilities I, L.P., a subsidiary of SouthWest Water Company, is pleased to announce the third annual Project Wishbone-Thanksgiving basket giveaway. The program offers ready-to-cook food baskets to qualified Monarch customers who desire to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year, but may not be able to afford one.

Eligible customers will receive a holiday basket filled with everything needed to prepare a family dinner, including yams, green beans, cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, dessert and the customer’s choice of a turkey or ham.

“We are pleased to offer Project Wishbone for the third consecutive year,” Janice Hayes, communications manager of SouthWest Water Company – Texas Utilities, said. “We understand that our customers may need a little extra help during the holiday season and believe giving back to the community we serve is an important part of our responsibility.”

Since the program’s inception in 2012, Monarch Utilities has given more than 1,500 Thanksgiving meal baskets to customers in need.

To qualify for Project Wishbone, the applicant must be a Monarch Utilities residential water customer in Henderson, Smith or Van Zandt County and have a combined total household income that does not exceed 150 percent of the current federal poverty guidelines. Customers enrolled in the Help2Others (H20) water assistance program are pre-qualified.
