Rainbow Girls press release

The Gun Barrel City Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls installed new officers on June 14. As something unique this term, two girls will share presiding as Worthy Advisor–Shelby McGallian and Michelle Sanderford. The theme for the term is “Frozen.” The motto is “Let It Go and Love;” colors are pale blue, silver, and white; song, “Let It Go;” mascot, Snowflake; and scripture is “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”–Deuteronomy 31:6. Michelle Sanderford was installed in the office of Worthy Associate Advisor, Tara Trimmins in Charity, and Kayla Rife was elected to the office of Hope. Shelby McGallian was installed as Chaplain; and Samantha Ramos, Emily Currey, and Katie Schaefer were respectively appointed to the offices of Religion (orange), Nature (yellow), and Immortality (green), corresponding to colors of the Rainbow. Mrs. Tonya Currey serves as Mother Advisor. Mr. George Heitman was again appointed as Rainbow Dad. All the girls received awards recognizing their service hours and memory work. It was a lovely Installation Ceremony that was preceded by sandwiches, chips, blue punch, blue Jell-O, blue candy brittle, and cupcakes. The Banquet Hall was decorated in light blue and white table covers, snow- and icicle-covered tree branches, and diamond jewels; and the guests were given “snowman-making kits” of marshmallows and pretzel sticks.

Installing Officers for the ceremony were: Installing Officer, Carrie Currie (Grand Texas Flag Bearer); Installing Recorder, Mrs. Lucy Gray (Board Chair); Installing Chaplain, Jennifer Haston (Grand Faith); Installing Marshal, Cheryl Haston (Grand Worthy Advisor); and Installing Musician, Mrs. Donna Dean (Grand Deputy).

Another highlight of this special day was an Honor Program for Carrie, who has represented the Assembly and Texas Rainbow this year as Grand Texas Flag Bearer. The Pledge group was also excited to welcome a new Pledge, Liza Eads–a wonderful conclusion to the busy day.
