Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls Install New Officers

The Gun Barrel City Masonic Youth Rainbow Girls installed new officers on July 25. Tara Trimmins was installed as Worthy Advisor. Her theme for this term is “Reach Out and Help Someone.” Her motto is “Why Sit Down When You Can Stand Out”; colors are purple, pink, and blue; her mascot is the giraffe; and scripture is “She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.”–Proverbs 31:25. Tara’s sister, Michelle, performed the Gavel Ceremony in presenting Tara with her gavel. Mrs. Rosalie Randall, Board Chair, presented Tara with her Bible. Her officers for this term will be: Kayla Rife (Worthy Associate Advisor), Katie Schaefer (Hope), Samantha Ramos (Faith), Abby Wilcox (Drill Leader), Emily Currey (Service), and Nicci Ferguson (Confidential Observer). Mrs. Tonya Currey serves as Mother Advisor. Mr. George Heitman was again appointed as Rainbow Dad.

Installing Officers for the ceremony were: Installing Officer, Michelle Sanderford (Jr. Past Worthy Advisor); Installing Recorder, Mrs. Cheryl Nix (Board Member); Installing Chaplain and Marshall, Shelby McGallian (Past Worthy Advisor); and Installing Musician, Mrs. Donna Dean (Grand Deputy).

Preceding the Installation Ceremony, the members of the Assembly performed an Induction Ceremony for new member Abby Wilcox. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed refreshments in the Banquet Hall.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a service-oriented, leadership organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Rainbow Girls participate in a wide array of activities, including leadership training, service projects, competitions, and annual retreats. Their younger group, the Pledges, have activities for girls ages 8 to 10.
