On Tuesday, Jan. 5, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received information that a stolen trailer was at a residence located on CR 1208. Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Captain Charlie Severn, Investigators Kay Langford, Brad Beddingfield, Jeromey Rose and Deputy Kyle Pokobradsky along with Investigator Robert Powers with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office/East Texas Auto Theft Task Force went to the residence located at 10210 CR 1028. Investigators had information that Shun Cameron was the property owner and was in possession of the stolen trailer.
Henderson County Sheriff’s Office personnel observed a fire behind the residence and attempted to speak with the home owners. Investigators located an unattended illegal fire where automotive tires and a tvs diode were being burned. Next to the illegal fire, Investigators located a stolen cement mixer that had been reported stolen in Henderson County earlier that day.
Henderson County Sheriff’s Office personnel located a Dodge pickup truck with an enclosed cargo trailer attached. Henderson County Personnel learned that the Dodge truck was reported stolen from Anderson County and the enclosed trailer had been reported stolen from Henderson County. An inventory was conducted on the trailer and inside the trailer, Investigators located baseball and softball equipment that had been reported stolen by Cross Roads ISD. Investigators also located a 2013 Jiajue motor scooter reported stolen from the City of Athens.
An arrest warrant affidavit was written by Investigator Powers for Cameron. Judge Randy Daniel determined probable cause was sufficient for an arrest warrant and three warrants for Theft of Property $2,500-$30,000 were issued for Cameron.
On Jan. 12, Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle pursuit in which Cameron was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and Cameron then fled on foot following the vehicle pursuit. An extensive manhunt was conducted by DPS, Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice K-9 Unit. The driver was located and placed in the Van Zandt County Detention Center. Cameron was subsequently located later in the day and was placed in the Henderson County Jail.
Cameron is being detained on a total of $71,500 bonds.
6 cops? Really? Sounds like we have too many cops. Can anyone say “Budget cuts”.

Lane, if they go to a fair fight, they are unprepared. Criminals don’t play by the rules. If you are one of the criminals I can understand your comment. If you are one of the victims you want them caught and you want the officers to have every advantage.
It is about time some of these people get caught. Our trailor was stolen a year ago while my husband was in the hospital. There still has not been any charges after us finding our trailor ourselves and names were admitted.
