Malakoff Rotary Club press release
The Malakoff Rotary Club is celebrating its 75th Anniversary of existence on Saturday, March 29, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event will be held at the Malakoff Community Center. There will be a catered dinner served by the Malakoff High School Honor Society students while Entertainment is provided by the Trinity Valley Community College Dixieland Band performs.
Following the meal and entertainment there will be dancing provided by DJ professional Brian Sherman with crowd favorites in music selections. There will also be a bountiful selection of silent auction items provided, to be awarded toward the end of the event.
Notable attendees will be the Rotary District Governor for the Northeast Texas and Oklahoma Area, Anson Godfrey and past Presidents and members.
The Malakoff Rotary Club was chartered March 29, 1939.
“I was introduced the Malakoff Rotary Club and became a member in 1979 when I was asked by the late Carney Kirby to go to lunch with him. I was Proud to be amongst the leading area businessmen and I have been a Rotarian ever since. The principles of SERVICE ABOVE SELF appealed to me and I try to live by that ideal on a daily basis.” said Douglas Humble, III, current president. “We want to invite the local community to help celebrate this anniversary as it is an integral part of what we are and what we serve.”
Tickets to this event are $15 and are available at First State Bank of Malakoff, Citizens National Bank of Malakoff, Malakoff Chamber of Commerce and of course any Rotary Member of the Malakoff Club.
