Athens Christian Preparatory Academy’s (ACPA) 7th grade Texas History class set out on their 3rd Annual Texas History Trip Feb. 28-March 2 with their teacher, Ms. Cassie Keys. The journey included the statue of Sam Houston (which we visited on his birthday), the Battlefield of San Jacinto featuring the San Jacinto Monument, the Battleship Texas, and Austin where we visited the Bob Bullock Museum as well as toured our State Capitol. The last day was spent at Washington-On-The-Brazos, where their slogan remains “Where Texas Became Texas!” While at Washington-on-the-Brazos, the group attended the 178th Birthday of Texas celebration! “This trip makes history come to life for these students,” said teacher Cassie Keys. “Every year, the students can’t stop talking about how much they learn.”
