Alden Marshall, who is a senior at Mabank High School, has been selected to receive one of this year’s DAR Good Citizen Award.
Alden has been in the Mabank High School Band for four years and was the Drum Major for two years. He was also in the All-Area Band and the All-Region Band.
Alden was on the Year Book staff for four years and editor his senior year. He was one of two students from Mabank selected to attend Texas Boys State. He campaigned for House of Representive and won. While attending Boys State he obtained a greater appreciation of government.
He is in the National Honor Society and the Beta Club. As a member of the Beta Club he was involved in local service projects, such as Fill the Bus, Muscular Dystrophy Association, 5K Walk. These projects worked to feed our community and show our support for students and their families at our school who suffered from muscular dystrophy.
He is planning on attending the University of Texas at Austin in order to obtain a business honors degree alongside a Bachelor’s degree in management.
Alden the Sarah Maples Chapter wish you all the best in your quest for education. You are a unique young man and we know you will go far.
