The Lady Cardinals ran their record to 8-0 Friday with a pair of wins in Dallas at Brookhaven College.
Coach Tosha Spain’s squad scored a 3-0 win (25-19,-25-13,25-18) against Brookhaven and a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-16, 25-12) against Ranger.
All eight Lady Cardinal wins have been by 3-0 scores. Last year, in a 23-8 season, 18 of the wins were by 3-0 scores, meaning 26 of their last 31 wins have been shutouts.
The Lady Cardinals open conference play on the road Wednesday against 7-3 Navarro. Game time in Corsicana is 7 p.m.
The Lady Cardinals’ home opener is Monday, Sept. 11, against Temple. Game time at Cardinal Gym is 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.
