Press release

At their April meeting, Pinnacle Women’s Club President Jean Alexander announced this year’s volunteer with a questionaire for the club members with clues as to the recipient’s life. Because the recipient was so well known, it was easy to recognize that Gail Fankhauser was honored as the Volunteer of the Year 2014-15. Gail is married to Mark Fankhauser an attorney in Dallas. She has two grown sons and five grandsons.

Prior to coming to the lake area, she lived in Richardson where she served on PTA boards and was president one year. She was Teacher of the Year for MabankISD in 2004. She developed a homework hot-line for students to communicate with her. Though she is retired from teaching, her interest in education continues. She serves as Vice President of Finance for Malakoff Education Foundation.

In 2011, Gail made the ultimate sacrifice of a kidney to her husband, Mark.

She served as president of PWC in 2013-14. She has served as scholarship chairman, membership chairman and PWC parliamentarian.

Gail is loved and appreciated by all PWC members and we are proud to have her selected as the Volunteer of the Year.
