Congratulations to Della Cooper on being named a Victim Advocate for the East Texas Crisis Center in Athens. A Victim Advocate is in charge of all Crisis Center client services and works very closely with clients in getting protective orders, finding shelters and working through the legal system.

Della has been with the Crisis Center for nearly a year, but has a long history as a domestic violence advocate. Her mother, Judy Seaton, runs a temporary shelter for anyone experiencing homelessness called The Farm.

“She certainly knows victim services,” said Crisis Center Outreach Coordinator Carla Gandy.

If you have ever been a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault — ever in your life, it doesn’t have to be current — contact the Crisis Center at 903-675-2137.
