The Sarah Maples Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are always looking for some project that they can do that will benefit their community. One of the projects this year is restoring, cleaning and painting if it needs it, historical markers. The Historical Commission has provided a list of all the markers in Henderson County. The first one chosen was in the Cross Roads area called Science Hill. Bunnie Freeman brought her husband Ron and son Luke to help. They all live nearby. The marker was in bad shape and could hardly be read it was so faded. It was cleaned and repainted and the end results surprised us all at how well it looked. The before (below) and after pictures show a great difference. Pictured are, from left, Bunnie Freeman, Cathy Cryer, Regent sitting Susan Cothran, Priscilla Berry, Suzanne Fife, and Nina Hendricks.
