1. Former Henderson County Sheriff Charlie Fields, Jr. passed away over the weekend. Services are scheduled for Wednesday.

2. The ballot is set for the Athens ISD election, while it looks like the City of Athens won’t need an election.

3. It is Kiwanis Pancake Day.

4. AMA: The GoBus. I answer another question about the county, this one dealing with that blue and white shuttle bus scooting around.

5. The Cross Roads ISD school board is scheduled to hold a special meeting this evening at 6 p.m. at the Administration Building. Facility planning is on the agenda. 

WHAT YOU MISSED

– There is still time to sign up for the Henderson County Girls Softball league. 

– The TVCC Cardinals will start their Regional tournament run this afternoon at 1 p.m. against Angelina. The tournament is on the campus of UT-Tyler. 

– The Athens Lady Hornets went 5-0 in last weekend’s Tyler softball tournament. 

Jimmy and Martha Mitchell were presented the Outstanding Cardinal Award.
